The Moat Wallpaper – Dove
New York based Artist Cynthia Rojas has created the design for this beautiful wallpaper using hand drawn repeated lines with ink on paper. Inspired by the winding moat in Chiang Mai| Thailand that surrounds the old city| these repeated lines traces the many journeys that are taken back and forth along this moat. “Architectural motifs along with vintage textiles inspire me to create original renditions of modern patterns. My preferred method of drawing repetitive motifs is with ink on paper. I omit the use of computer| ruler or tape in order to achieve an organic movement that is never quite perfect.” Cynthia Rojas
This wallpaper seems to create gentle waves of movement across the wall| animating the space. It’s a contemporary paper that works perfectly as a backdrop to strong design pieces of furniture and lighting – we love how it adds subtle visual interest!
